Paris-based agency Playmaker commissioned me to film and handle post-production for an ELLE project with Chanel. Playmaker managed pre-production.

The film combines interviews with Marion Cotillard and Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, filmed at Maxim’s, with footage of the private jewellery collection shot at Place Vendôme. It was intended to accompany a magazine feature.

  • A short windowTime with Marion Cotillard was very limited. Framing, lighting and microphones had to be ready so the interview could begin as soon as she sat down.
  • Controlled accessAt Place Vendôme, filming time was also limited, with security checks around the private high jewellery collection.
  • A one-person setupI handled camera, lighting and sound on my own at both locations.

Set everything up.
Then let them speak.

At Maxim’s, the technical setup was ready before Marion Cotillard arrived: lighting adjusted, framing set and microphones switched on. This preparation left the available time for the interview.

At Place Vendôme, the shoot focused solely on the jewellery. The footage had to be captured within the allotted access time and in line with security procedures.

My contribution
